Ouchy!

I made it to the finish line! There will be a two day race report to come but I wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive. Thanks for all the comments of encouragement and for all the new friends who dropped by to wish me luck. I dug into all your cheers and kind words when I hit mile 16 and needed to stop cursing the world.

I'm home with two thrashed legs and an unhappy knee. The worse ouch of the weekend came yesterday evening after getting off the plane. My mouth exploded with pain and I rushed in for an emergency root canal this afternoon (thus the delayed race write-up). I'm hoping to finally get a normal night's sleep tonight. Kona Dog is bursting with energy and could use a well recovered human.

More to come. . .

Goodness! You poor thing! As if running a marathon wasn't enough torture- why not add a root canal to top it off!

I'm so excited for you that you finished- what an accomplishment. Definitely looking forward to hearing about it, but in the meantime- sleep well and heal quickly! Make sure that Kona gives you lots of kisses :)

First, congrats on finishing! I can imagine how sore your legs are but that's well-earned soreness!

As for the mouth, what absolutely terrible luck. I'm glad that the root canal is over, and you can start to recover.

After I did marathons, a very long time ago, people told me to walk downstairs backwards to avoid so much leg pain. I can't remember if it worked... but it definitely won't help the mouth pain :)

Get better!

Although I'm sure running to the finish line was sooo worth it!!!

Congratulations! I've been reading Fatty's posts, and waiting to hear your personal experience of the event.

Sorry about your teeth. That sucks. The other pain, well I guess you earned it :) If people see you limping you brag, "Well, I just ran the NYC marathon!"

Heal up fast.
