Day Off Training Videos

Kona started coughing a couple days ago. I don't think it's anything to be too concerned about, but I thought I'd try to keep her rested today. So here are the videos I shot awhile ago of some of Kona's training.

Here's her distant sit. I mentioned earlier that Kona gets nervous with distant work. You can see her squinty eyes and sideways ears. She missed her first attempt (You can see she knew she was suppose to sit earlier, as she slinks towards me), but I rewarded her anyway. I didn't want to make her any more uncomfortable for "getting it wrong." This one is still a work in progress.

Here's Kona's heel work. While out on our runs, my challenge is keeping Kona's attention. Out in the yard, where I shot this, Kona loves this game and my problem is more with her jumping on me or cutting me off. She's still doing well.

Kona is doing a great job. I don't know if Oreo would sit from a distance at all. I'll have to try that.

Kona is great at heeling, she really attends well to you.

I currently have my first fearful dog and distance work is the hardest thing for her. She's great in situations that she's comfortable with, like on the trails, but creeps toward me in less familiar places, like at the parks where we have our dog classes. I bet that Kona will "get it" with time.

She sure has her attention riveted on you!

Kona is doing very well. Don't worry. She'll get better and less nervous about it. I hope she gets well soon!!
